A brief background on AWSA
The Asian Wellness & Spa Academy (AWSA) began as a massage training institution in Sampaloc, Manila known as Oasis Massage Training Center (OMTC) in 2001.
In 2002, its founding president, Benjamin Eugenio Jr, LMT, went to Tokyo, Japan to study as a Japanese government scholar taking up Master's Degree in Public Policy at the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies, Roppongi District, Tokyo, Japan. On the side, he also took lessons on Namikoshi Shiatsu at the world-famous, Japan Shiatsu College also in Tokyo.
HiMAS became a Department of Health (DOH) Accredited Training Institution in 2010.
Because of its quality training programs and activities for several years, HiMAS was recognized by the Asia Spa, an international spa magazine based in Hongkong, as "one of Asia's best spa academies" on its March-April 2012 issue.
